i finished another book at the weekend! Just finished Fast Food Nation and it was fucking cool. i think everyone should read it and find out just what goes into that shit i used to eat all the time! it's the 3rd book i've read this year, which considering i hadn't read a whole book for about 7/8 years, i think is pretty good! i know some people can finish 3 books inside a month, but hey, who cares. i don't!

my iPod is fucked. it started to stop playing songs and freezing alot. so i left it for a while. and then, when i tried to put more songs on it, it deleted everything. i tried to put more songs on it, but it did it again. it's done it four times! it's working ok at the moment, but i know if i try to put anything else on it, it will fuck up again. grrrrrr. i may send it in to be repaired. sounds like a good idea.

i've been listening to alot of UK hip hop recently. i can't believe i didn't check it out sooner, i fucking love it. Braintax is defo my fave at the mo, closely followed by Jehst, Iron Bridge, Yungun and Phi life Cypher. fuck, it's good. mad respect (again!) to sam for telling me bout them *thumbs up*

this weekend wasn't good for my football teams. palace lost against man utd and my team lost 4-9 (might be why i was a bit miserable today). i'm knowhere near as tired this week as i was last week. everything was aching last week but this week i'm fine! two week break now though : (

BT are an incredibly boring metalcore band and Cult Of Luna are gonna fucking destroy them. or at least i hope they do. but hey, they're doing a headline tour in febuary, so that should be cool. Cult Of Luna and Mastodon in the same month. yummy :)

-saw The Incredibles and The Manchurian Candidate, both awesome films in thier own ways.
-worked (duh)
-seen Johnny Truant and The Black Dahlia Murder <3 it was frigging awesome coz i got to chat to Tom basingstoke and David for a bit and was cool to hang out with Stan and Jo (WHO'S HAD A MAN SINCE SEPTEMBER!!!)
-Got ill, could barely move without something hurting, it wasn't just a 'man cold'
-worked more
-spent alot of time with my Claire <3 <3 <3 <3 you make me smile just thinking about seeing you later :)
-had the new Double Decadance pizza from Dominos. it's not too shabby.
-Played Football last night for a 7-a-side team with some guys from work. this was last night. 15/20 minutes a half and i'm fucking knackered. i dunno how i'm gonna get through work coz i'm aching all over. i need to get fit. FAST.

people change alot. one thing you can't change is your friends. they stay with you through tough times and they help you through. some people i have lost contact with and this makes me sad because a year ago we were inseperable (is that the right word?) it just makes me sad sometimes.

Mastodon tonight seriously fucking killed. the support band were awful (with a name like 'The Inbreds', what should i have expected!) Just listening to those songs live is such an awesome experience. one of the few bands that can make amazing album AND pull it off live. and when the riff for March Of The Fire Ants kicked in, i knew i was in heaven.
i haven't been to many gigs recently, but the ones i have been to have been pretty special. Cult Of Luna and Mastodon have been immense and JT was damn cool coz i hadn't seen them for so long. roll on Dillinger in december :)

but yet i still don't have the desire to listen to anything but hip hop on my iPod! strange....

i'm pretty damn happy about alot of things at the moment. my life doesn't seem to be going anywhere right now but i'm really not that bothered. actually, thats a lie, there are loadsa things going well for me and i do know where i wanna go and i'm making inroads into going for them. alot of things still hold up on my mind though, just not as much.

work isn't that bad. starting at 10.30 instead of 9.30 really does make a big differance. it's cool, more time in bed!

i've been playing about with keyboards at work recently. i was always so scared of keyboards/piano's coz they always looked so hard to play, but i think i'll pick it up prety easily. admitidly, it wouldn't be an actual keyboard, more synth/midi keyboard type thing, but i still reckon i can cook up some sick sounding stuff. really wanna get the drum machine and sampler too coz i wanna make some really wierd, sick beats. i'm really hyped about making this style of music. MUST SAVE MONEY FIRST THOUGH.

i miss band stuff. i miss hanging out in the garage, pissing about. i miss the ringing sound i get in my ears from the cymbals. i miss getting txts from rob telling me about ideas he's had.
quitting the band really opened my eyes to alot of things. made me realise what the band meant to the guys. some i can understand and except, some i find a bit upsetting. i know it's partially my fault. some were effected more than others. this is the thing that upsets me the most. i try not to dwell on it much though.
i'm not gonna say anymore about this subject.

i've been listening to hip hop pretty much non stop for the past week. been listening to alot of Braintax, Iron Bridge, Sixtoo, DJ Signify, Blockhead, Saul Williams, C-Rayz Walz and Jel. it's awesome. i love it.
i also realised i haven't listened to HOTS for about a month. wierd. i wanna go and see them, bit i'm not going up london anytime soon, so i can't get any tickets. plus it's a day after Mastodon (KATIEEEEEE, if possible, could you possibly get us some tickets?? i know it's alot to ask, but if you could and you still wanna go, it would be TEH AWESOME to hang with thee! lemme know <3)

well. the gig. i fucked up so much. i dropped my sticks twice, was playing out of time. it's really fucking depressing, i was so siked about it. i was ok until it got to the end of I R Tiger (who were very cool i might add), then i started to brick it. i was so nervous and i don't know why. i just wanted to crawl into a hole and die, it was horrible. but hey, we got another gig out of it (with Youth Movie Soundtrack Stratagies!!!) and an e-mail address of a guy who can get us regular gigs. which is cool. and Pete at work said we can play when his band plays the Cartoon. which is cool.

i'm still fucking bummed about the gig though. feel like i let everyone down.

EDIT: i've also got a massive raised bruise right be my crotch area on my leg where i didn't have the snare drum holder high enough and therefore, kept on hitting my leg with my stick. it's the least i deserve.
